National Recycling Week
National Recycling Week, a campaign launched by Planet Ark, provides an important opportunity for councils, workplaces, schools and individuals to improve their recycling knowledge, build better recycling habits and build trust in recycling. This is a week for paying extra attention to the way we take care of the environment by avoiding excess waste. Teaching children about the three 'R's and how they can take care of the world around us is essential for a healthy, sustainable future.
Remembrance Day
The eleventh day of November has been known as Remembrance Day in Australia since the end of World War II. We will engage in experiences that celebrate our country and mateship in honour of all soldiers who fought for their country in years gone by.
Universal Children's Day
This year is the 36th anniversary of the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child – a special moment where governments around the world (including Australia) agreed on 54 different rights that every child under 18 years old should have to live a safe, healthy and happy life. On this World Children’s Day, we've chosen to celebrate every child’s right to play and calling on communities, schools, workplaces and leaders to protect and promote this right for every child. Play is how children learn, grow, connect and heal. Every child has the right to play – no matter who they are or where they live.
