Welcome to Brady Bunch Early Learning Centre Burpengary

Brady Bunch Early Learning Centre is a purpose built early years education and care service located in Burpengary.

The Brady Bunch journey commenced in 2012 when service providers, Glenn and Sheree Brady decided to enter the early childhood industry after seeing the importance and value, quality early years education offered their grandchildren. Glenn and Sheree strongly believe that offering a family run centre based home away from home will provide the nurturing and compassionate care that our children deserve. We endeavour to provide an environment, which will allow every child to feel supported to feel secure, confident and included.

And that’s how … we became the Brady Bunch!

Teddy Bear’s Picnic at Morayfield State School
Today the children were very excited to attend a Teddy Bear’s at Morayfield East State School. When we arrived we were greeted by some of the Prep teachers and Miss Amy (the speech and language pathologist who comes to visit us at our centre). We lined up in two lines with Mrs Ford and walked together down to one of the Prep classrooms. We sat together on the mat and read ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ and learnt some new actions to go along with the book. Khaleesi held the pages of the book while we read along together. Mrs Ford was so impressed with how well we all sat and listened.
To follow on from the book, the children then had the opportunity to make their own bear mask. They could choose between making a polar bear mask by gluing on some cotton balls or a grizzly bear mask by gluing on some coloured wool. Some year 5 helpers came to help the children make their masks and write their names on the back.
Next, the children buddied up with the year 5 children to read some books together. It was lovely to see the younger children engaging with the older children. Macy loved her partner so much that when we left she became upset- “I love my partner!” she exclaimed.
We finished our inside time by playing a game of ‘Doggy Doggy Where’s Your Bone’, followed by a delicious morning tea of fruit and jam pikelets!
After morning tea the year 5’s walked us up to the fort where the children engaged in some gross motor skills- balancing along the stepping stones and the skipping ropes, climbing up the ladders and sliding down the slides.
The children had such a wonderful time at the Morayfield East State School Teddy Bear’s picnic and it was such a great opportunity for them to get a taste of ‘big school’ life! Everyone is very excited to tell their families all about their day!
Analysis of Learning: This experience was beneficial to the children’s learning and wellbeing in so many ways. The children began to develop a sense of security in the school environment. They demonstrated a confident self-identity when engaging with the Prep teachers and school children and built positive relationships with them. They practiced their listening skills, gross motor skills and shared reading skills.
